This item is one live giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron Giganteum) tree. The winning bidder will receive the tree that is pictured. The tree will be shipped in the container that it is grown in, with the roots intact, and not bare root to protect the tender feeder roots. Sequoias will grow in all climate zones. You will have to be prepared to water the tree to get it rooted and during times of drought thereafter. Sequoias are not drought tolerant. Only trees with rich green color are selected for sale. This 4 foot high Hollywood “Twisted” Juniper forest was first created by me in 1981. In spite of needing much, much more work, it is now grand enough in my eyes to be given full respect and it’s own name in Japanese Bonsai tradition. Christened: "MO ACHA", which means, "Little Uncle" THE "God of Fine Weather", in Japanese. Appropriate name for the shorter of the two main trees in this family. I dug the two larger trees from Tito's Tacos Mexican Restaurant in Culver City, California. "TITO" is "Little Uncle" in Spanish. These Hollywood “Twisted” Junipers by chance grew straight and not "Twisted" as genetics usually dictates because of poor growing conditions. They were shaded by the restaurant building plus covered by large elm trees. They were then regularly and severely cut back by restaurant employees. This cutting back conspired to keep the lower branches viable even in the poor light conditions. An extremely lucky and rare combination of circumstances made this, one of a kind, forest possible. The two junipers were originally planted at the new restaurant construction site location in 1973 and are most likely nursery cuttings started in approximately 1970. The smaller trees in the forest were collected by me in 1981 from various nurseries throughout Southern California. It was not easy to find five more tall and straight “twisted” junipers, but as you can see, I found them. They were approximately 3 years old each when purchased in 1981.
